Within therapy, my role is one of a listener, supporter, guide, and collaborator. In looking at inner-conflicts together, we can come to new ways of understanding ourselves, ultimately leading to greater peace and self-compassion. I lead with a heart-centered approach, believing in the client’s ability to self-heal. I deeply value my work as a therapist and find great joy in supporting people along the journey of life.
People of all identities, genders, sexualities, and relationship types are celebrated here. I have experience in helping individuals and couples navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. In working with couples, I strive to create a safe space for folx to share their inner worlds shaped by unique histories and build greater self-awareness and understanding towards each other's personal journeys.
I hold several theoretical orientations in my work including relational, psychodynamic, transpersonal, and somatic perspectives.
Relational: This means I understand the importance of human connection and see humans intricately linked within their relationships – intimate relationships, families, as well as cultural and societal. In a sense, we are our relationships. Healing our relationships is integral to healing ourselves.
Psychodynamic: This means I work with the belief that we all have unconscious parts which influence our thoughts and feelings about ourselves, others and the world. Making the unconscious conscious is a key aspect of the healing journey.
Transpersonal: This means I believe we all have access to an inner source of wisdom, knowledge and insight beyond our understanding of self and is connected to the universe. Tapping into and honoring this source within can be awe-inspiring, regenerative, and transformational.
Somatic: This means I value the wisdom of the body and understand that our bodies hold our experiences. To work with the body – its feelings, sensations and fears – is to also work with the unconscious.
I received my MA in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). At CIIS, the integral approach involves exploring the interconnectedness of different areas of knowledge and fostering a deeper understanding of the whole person and society.
